Description:
Working proactively and closely with the Head Grower, the Assistant Growers support management and consultants with the focus being on the growing process. The Assistant Grower must operate, control and adapt to an ever-changing environment while following operating policies and procedures, and complete the required reporting, inspections and sampling. Also included are, supporting scouting for pest and disease, assisting with chemical applications and cleanout/crop change plans, assisting Growers in mapping tasks.

We are in search of an Assistant Grower that is willing to relocate to or reside in Dauphin, MB and join our team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee crop production, ensuring optimal plant health and yield.
- Monitor and manage irrigation, nutrition, climate control, and pest/disease control programs.
- Conduct regular scouting and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
- Work closely with the growing team to optimize greenhouse conditions and production schedules.
- Maintain detailed records of crop performance, treatments, and environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with management to improve growing techniques and efficiencies.
- Other responsibilities/tasks as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Priva Climate and Irrigation System, preferred.
- Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture
- Pesticide License an asset
- Minimum of 2 years grower experience
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent time management, decision making and interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Must be able to work independently
- Valid License as travel to greenhouse is necessary
- Position requires Monday-Friday, and rotating schedule for holidays and after hours availability with second Assistant Grower
- Candidate must be able to stand, kneel, bend and walk for extended periods of time
- Grower will be working with various people and cultures
- Spanish speaking considered an asset, but not necessary
- Candidate will be working under hot, humid conditions during summer months
- Candidate must abide by Company policies and procedures pertaining to Health And Safety, Food Safety and Bio security
